Deepika Padukone was in a self-obsessed mood as she launched Namita Jain’s book ‘Jaldi Fit‘. With an hour glass figure, she is definitely one of the fittest actresses in Bollywood today. And she has no qualms in admitting so.

“I am the fittest actress in Bollywood,” said the dusky beauty. On being asked which actress she considers to be fit, apart from her, Deepika said, “Priyanka Chopra is a very fit. And among the actors, it’s Akshay Kumar.”

The actress said that being fit is very important. “If there’s something that you really want to do, you automatically make time for it. Fitness has become a part of my life. I don’t think about fitness as ‘Oh my God! I have to workout’.”

Like her contemporaries Bipasha Basu and Shilpa Shetty, does Deepika have any plans to launch her own fitness DVDs? “I have no plans to launch any fitness DVDs,” was her terse reply.

The 24-year-old also admitted her love for eating. “I love eating. For me, it’s almost a hobby to try out different cuisines when I travel the world. Fortunately in the profession that I am, I get to travel a lot. I also have sweets and deserts. The secret is to understand your body. It is said rice is not good for you. As a South Indian, I have grown up on rice. So it really depends on what suits your body. And of course, you have to combine it with workout. If you are not going to burn the calories, then you will put it on (weight).”

What if Deepika is asked to gain weight for a film and look fat? “Putting on weight is not a problem, but losing it is. So I’ll have to think twice about it.

Deepika will next be seen in LAFANGEY PARINDEY opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh. The film hits the screens on August 27.

Talking about Neil Nitin Mukesh, the young star does not seem to be very comfortable with smooch scenes in his film. Be it his first director Sriram Raghavan, who could not convince Neil to kiss Rimi Sen, or his second film, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, director Sudhir Mishra where Neil was asked to kiss Shahana Goswami and then again his director for ‘Jail’ where the actor refused to lock lips with Mugdha Godse even during a passionate love making scene- all his directors failed to convince Neil to do the act.

However, Pradeep Sarkar, the director of ‘Lafangey Parindey’, made his point clear to Neil that he had to smooch Deepika Padukone for the film as per the demand of the script. Well, so Neil would now be seen smooching Deepika in ‘LP’, and how, we have the little birdie informing us that the lip-lock surely is pretty long and intense. A source from the set said it was a long, torrid smooch comparable in intensity and duration to any sensational smooch scene so far. And guess what! Neil was nervous!
