Much to the delight of the Roshans, Deepika Padukone has finally accepted to play Hrithik Roshan’s ladylove. She will dethrone Priyanka Chopra and will next be seen playing hunk Hrithik Roshan leading lady in the ‘Krrish’ sequel. After the debacle of ‘Kites’, Rakesh Roshan has again taken the huge task of bringing his son’s career on track by making a sequel to the box office hit ‘Krrish’.

Deepika was in the Roshan’s mind from the very first day. It is said that she was the first choice for ‘Kites’ but high volume of intimate scene compelled the actress to reject the offer. Moreover, she was also not ready for bikini at that moment. Her rejection proved as a blessing for Deepika. Roshan later opted for Mexican beauty Barbara Mori and thus Deepika saved herself from registering another flop.

But today Deepika is more than happy to be a part of ‘Krrish’ sequel. She has readily accepted the offer.

Deepika sports ‘Desi’ look with pigtails in Ashutosh Gowariker‘s next flick.

Ashutosh Gowariker says it is one of his favorite images from the movie. It showcases the grit and determination of the women of 1930s.

Deepika portrays the character of Kalpana Datta… These were times when women were not allowed to participate in freedom movements. But she braved all odds and took the gun in her hands to fight for the country.

Deepika is excited about her role in the film.

“I fight with men and I manufacture bombs. All this in the 1930s. It can’t get any more exciting,” she says.

The film additionally headlines Abhishek Bachchan.

The film is based on the book Do And Die by Manini Chatterji. It is the story of Bengal revolutionary Surya Sen who master-minded the Chittagong armory raid.

The film has been shot mostly in Goa along with portions in Mumbai.
