Deepika Padukone has bagged a role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next, a clear endorsement of her talent from the reputed director.

Vishal, who has in the past directed critically acclaimed films such as Omkara, Kaminey and Saat Khoon Maaf, is known to cast talented actors in challenging roles.

Deepika is obviously excited to get his nod for the film which will begin production in early 2011.

“Yes its true!signed a film with vishal bhardwaj!I’m really really excited…he’s a genius!!:-)” Deepika tweeted earlier today.

Yesterday she told Mumbai Mirror that Bhardwaj was impressed with her work in Love Aaj Kal and Karthik Calling Karthik.

“He told me that ever since he watched these films, he has been writing this script keeping me in mind. It’s a dream come true for me and I always wanted to work with him, especially because he is considered one of the best directors in the country today. We all know he is extremely talented and I am looking forward to working with him.”

Deepika says she agreed to do Vishal’s film without even asking who would be the male lead in the film.

Last month TOI reported that Vishal Bhardwaj plans to make a romantic film titled Dreams with Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Films. Vishal and Ekta had met on numerous occasions since April without letting out a hint as to what was cooking.

Deepika is currently awaiting release of the following films:

Ashutosh Gowariker’s Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey with co-stars Abhishek Bachchan, John Pollard, Monty Munford and Sikander Kher.

Yash Raj Films Lafangey Parindey directed by Pradeep Sarkar with co-stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Piyush Mishra.

Kunal Kohli production Break Ke Baad directed by Danish Aslam with co-stars Imran Khan, Shahana Goswami and Sharmila Tagore.

Buzz is that Deepika Padukone has planned to remove the RK tattoo on the nape of her neck. The tattoo which was done when she and Ranbir Kapoor were a hot pair. Now that both have parted ways, Deeps wants to erase the inked impression through laser technology.

All these while the tall beauty had tried her best to hide the tattoo with concealer, when she shot for movies ‘Lafangey Parindey’ and ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’.

Deepika is currently a hot topic among gossip mongers for being a pair with Siddharth Mallya.
